Sam Pang | Volunteer Assistant Coach

Sam Pang is in his first year as a Volunteer Assistant for men's volleyball at George Mason.  Sam joins Mason after several years of playing and coaching volleyball.  After three years of varsity volleyball at Thomas S. Wootton High School, Sam went on to play for the UMBC men’s team from 2003-07.  While at Thomas S. Wootton, Sam won the County Championship (2002) and also played for the Maryland Volleyball Program for two years.

After playing at UMBC, Pang has had success playing for the USAV Mens 6’s team, earning All-Tournament honors five times since 2009, including being named MVP in 2011.  He also made the CHRVA All-Tournament team five times since 2009.  Sam has also competed in several invitational tournaments in China in 2004 with Hip Sing 9man Volleyball. 

Sam was an Assistant Coach for the girls’ varsity team at Thomas S. Wootton High School in 2007.  In 2010, Sam became the Head Coach for the girls’ junior-varsity team at Thomas S. Wootton.  Before joining Mason, Sam was the Assistant Coach at Walter Johnson High School for the girls’ varsity team in 2014.
